The General Manager’s overall responsibility is to deliver the highest customer service to increase sales, profitability, and the success of the franchise through: overseeing the hiring, training and motivation of franchise employees, overseeing and executing marketing and sales plans, controlling costs, improving profitability, and consistently exceeding customer expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the direction and day-to-day supervision of all movers/drivers and office staff
  • Drive continual improvement of key areas of the business; establish systems, policies and procedures for these key areas
  • Continuously work to ensure the profitability of moves as well as exceptional customer service
  • Responsible for on-boarding, training/development, and disciplinary action of current and new sales staff
  • Work with the sales staff to develop and execute the franchise sales plan
  • Lead by example in performance, attitude, attendance and work ethic; responsible for team development and motivation
  • Promote safety and uphold safety procedures and policies; ensure compliance with all DOT regulations and FMCSA guidelines
  • Obtain customer feedback through follow-up calls, both during and after moves; calmly and professionally handle customer concerns
  • Continuously communicate with management and employees and provide reports for executive review
  • Ensure the office is maintained in a clean, organized and professional manner
  • All other duties as assigned

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • A minimum of 2 years of business, management, or other relevant experience is required
  • Experience in a leadership or supervisor role required
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented; ability to multi-task
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example to motivate, develop, and direct people
  • Ability to assess the performance of self, employees, and franchise to make improvements or take corrective action

  • Proficient with the following Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and random drug screens
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record; must be able to drive company vehicles
