Ferris
Looking for an opportunity to stay active and become acclimated to his new city of Colorado Springs, Ferris saw TWO MEN AND A TRUCK as a great fit when he applied for his first role. Little did he know at the time, his frontline position would eventually lead him to business ownership.
“I started as a mover,” said Ferris. “I worked alongside experienced movers who helped train me on the job, and I quickly started looking forward to coming in each day.”
It wasn’t long before Ferris transitioned into the role of a driver before being promoted to a training manager, followed by the operations manager of the Colorado Springs franchise. His position as the operations manager helped to change the trajectory of his career, in which he discovered the taste for owning his own TWO MEN AND A TRUCK location through impactful training opportunities provided.
“Being promoted from Training Manager to Operations Manager in Colorado Springs was a big step in shaping my career,” stated Ferris. “It gave me the chance to implement new programs and strategies while working with a team that was open to adapting and improving. That experience also led me to programs like Managers Moving Forward and the Mary Ellen’s Moving People Forward® Scholarship Program, which helped create a path toward opening my own location.”
Following his participation in the Mary Ellen’s Moving People Forward Scholarship Program, a competitive program that educates managers on what it takes to run their own locations and become a franchisee, Ferris opened his own TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchise in Lubbock, Texas, in 2023.
Stepping into the ownership role, Ferris is committed to offering the same growth opportunities to his team that he was awarded at the beginning of his TWO MEN AND A TRUCK career.
“What motivates me most is helping others grow,” stated Ferris. “I enjoy working with people who are driven and want to build something for themselves, whether that means growing within the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK system or preparing for their next step in life. Watching our team improve each day through every move, every sales call, and every customer interaction is what keeps me motivated.”
