Training Process

Congrats, you’ve been hired as a TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® mover or driver! You’re now set to embark on an exciting work journey as your “office” changes daily and you set your sights on new locations and new customers to move forward.

Before you get started in the field, you’ll undergo extensive training to prepare you for all aspects of the job. The training process for movers is structured to ensure you’re up to date on all the best moving practices and techniques, equipped to keep our customers’ belongings safe and secure while also training to prevent any injury to you or your team members.

Below, we’ve detailed what a typical week of professional mover training looks like so you can understand the structure a bit!

Day 1

You’ll fill out new employee paperwork, tour the franchise and meet your team, get a look at the trucks and moving equipment, and meet your new team members while learning the ins and outs of the job.

Day 2

The second day of mover and driver training includes instructional and educational videos to get you started. From there, you will learn the do’s and don’ts of moving, how to stretch wrap and lift specific furniture pieces, and get in a little packing practice on a mock truck.

Day 3

Here, you’ll get a run down of a typical morning dispatch for a TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchise and see firsthand how the days are started. Then, you’ll do more practice loading and unloading on the truck, while also working on more stretch wrapping and other moving-related skills.

Day 4

This is the first full day you’ll experience as a mover or driver. You’ll complete a variety of tasks and training, from watching videos to learning how to label boxes, how to load boxes into a truck, and how to handle the technical and billing side of things when wrapping up a customer’s move.

Day 5

The final day of training! You’ll spend the first part of your day recapping everything you have learned throughout the week to make sure you’re well-versed on what it takes to be a TWO MEN AND A TRUCK mover or driver.

The management team will review your strengths and weaknesses throughout the week and work with you on additional training if needed. For drivers, they’ll undergo tablet training and learn how to handle the payment process with customers.
