TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® was built around the concept of giving back to the community in every way possible, and this is something that stands out to both our customers and employees. For Kristen, it was our company’s work with our Movers for Moms® campaign that caught her interest and led to her eventually starting a career here.

“Prior to working here, I was working at a retail store, and I just didn’t really like it too much after a certain point, so I started looking for other jobs,” Kristen said. “I saw TWO MEN AND A TRUCK on Indeed, and I saw that one of their core values was giving back to the community, and that’s something that I really respect and strive to. I saw they were doing Movers for Moms, so for me to work for a company like that – a company that cares about people – meant a lot.”

Kristen had prior experience working with a moving company and added with what she saw from TWO MEN AND A TRUCK’s core values, jumped on the opportunity to become the CSR for the Jacksonville and St. John’s, Fla., locations.

She realized right away how much the company cares about their employees, and knew it would be more than just a job.

“I love my coworkers. They’ve always said that this company is like a family – it truly is like a family,” Kristen said. “I love everybody that I work with, I love talking to the customers and helping them through a difficult time. It’s just every day, you’re doing something a little different, and that’s what makes it a fun and enjoyable time.”

From making sure all of the schedules align to looking after movers, working with customers, and making sure everything goes smoothly around the franchise, Kristen has her hands full, but enjoys the work.

With nearly three years under her belt, she feels at home in her position, and is always looking for the next thing to tackle with a TWO MEN AND A TRUCK career.

“I honestly would like to help open up a new franchise one day,” Kristen said. “We are looking into opening in other areas, and I would love to be able to help out with that, or even branch off into a different franchise if someone needed management help or a team lead. I am very interested in moving up within the company because I do genuinely love working here.”

I’m always seeking out new opportunities to help grow our brand, help others, learn, and sharpen my skill set. The Scholarship Program was the perfect opportunity for me to accomplish these things. It was and continues to be an incredible and invaluable opportunity. It has been more than I expected in many ways, and I have learned a great deal and have been able to help others and build relationships through the program.

The thing that attracted me most to the job was just the team environment, I’ve grown up playing sports my whole life, so when I got there and met everyone, I saw the way they treated the guys, how all the guys were team-based like family, and that was just something that really attracted me and kept me here. I quit my other job to come here because I saw the career growth and advancement that was open to movers and drivers.

Personally, it has helped me come out of my shell. I wasn’t really a big people person, even as a personal trainer, but this job has helped me get out of that shell even more because I’m around different people every day.

I chose to enroll in the Managers Moving Forward Program after seeing a presentation at Annual Meeting. I saw some of the focus areas were weaknesses of mine, and I figured it would be beneficial to address those. The experience has been awesome, and all of the content has led to processes I can implement at my franchise to make it better. If you aren’t growing, you’re dying, and I’d prefer the former over the latter!
