Get 2026 started right with these five goal setting tips to achieve personal and professional success

Just like that, the holiday season has passed, and we’re rolling into 2026!

A new year brings hope, a chance for new opportunities, and it serves as a great time to regroup and refocus on your personal and professional goals as you determine what’s important to you and where you want to go. Goal setting is important to achieving success, but setting goals and following through on completing them can be much easier said than done.

We’re big advocates of goal setting here at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK, and it’s something that is preached throughout our brand, as we like to see success from within at all levels of the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK family.

We’ve come up with five goal-setting tips to help anyone start 2026 off right and make positive changes in this new year!

Put Your Goals In Writing

The first step to successful goal setting is getting everything down in writing to make it official. Whether it’s a journal, a whiteboard, or just a sticky note – this will help you visualize what you’re after and what needs to be done to accomplish the task at hand.

Make A Checklist For 2026

How are you going to achieve your goals in 2026? The first step is making a checklist of what needs to be done. This roadmap can help you take things in stride and not get overwhelmed, going step by step as you work through the journey of achieving your goals.

Share Your Goals With Friends Or Family

Accountability can go a long way in chasing success, and sharing your goals with someone close – like a friend or family member – can give you a source of both inspiration and motivation. Those closest to you knowing what you’re trying to achieve can help you along the way, as they will have your best interests in mind!

Evaluate Yourself Along The Way

Similar to making a checklist of how to complete your goals, it’s important to practice self-evaluation along the way. Picking times to step back, assess where you are, and make sure you’re doing what needs to be done can be a productive exercise.

Celebrate Once You’ve Achieved Your Goals!

There’s no point in setting out on this road if you’re not going to celebrate at the end, right? It’s important to reward yourself for getting the goal visualized, acting upon it, and succeeding in the end. The hard work you have put in deserves recognition!
