There are plenty of perks on the job as a TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchise team member, but arguably none are better than the opportunity to give back to the community.
Giving back is a critical part of what TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchises do. It’s not just something we say – it’s a major part of who we are and how we use our resources. Each franchise location across the United States, Canada, Ireland, and the United Kingdom utilizes its moving ability for the greater good of the community, and one of the biggest ways franchises in the U.S and Canada do this is through Movers for Moms®.
Movers for Moms is a charitable program developed in-house at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK that’s run each spring leading up to Mother’s Day. The intended goal of Movers for Moms is to give back to moms and families in need partnering with local shelters to collect essential care items for moms that are delivered on or around Mother’s Day.
Franchises set up collection sites around their communities to secure donations, and then they’ll set up a delivery date with the shelter they have partnered with to drop off all the collected items. These donations go a long way in helping moms and their families feel special on Mother’s Day, and it’s been a staple of the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK brand for nearly two decades.
“I was raised by a single mom, so I think it’s really important to support people in need and to support people who don’t always have the resources or the opportunities to go and ask for those things,” said Nika Zisman, the marketing coordinator for the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Chicago locations. “Having something like Movers for Moms to give back and help people out it really goes a long way.”
The program provides the frontline staff at a TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchise to take a break from the daily grind of moving and get out in the community to make a difference. Getting a chance to meet new people, talk to others, and help people in need is a major perk of the job, and it’s something that resonates with many movers, drivers, customer service representatives, and other office staff around the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK network.
“This is part of what we do,” said Adreanne Humphrey, the marketing director for the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Huntsville, Alabama franchise. “It’s so awesome to work somewhere that gives you the opportunity to be creative in helping people, so it’s really nice and it feels great.”
