TWO MEN AND A TRUCK’s history now spans four decades, and throughout that time, thousands of people have made life at a franchise their career.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK originally started as a way for two brothers – Brig and Jon Sorber – to make a little extra spending money in high school while growing up in the Lansing, Michigan area. Their mother – TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Founder, Mary Ellen Sheets – helped the two get their business in the classified ads and started taking calls for the business as they moved more people.

After they left for college, she kept getting calls, and one day decided to make it a real company. 40 years later and over 10 million customers moved, we’re still going strong, and we have helped so many start a career they are proud of!

From movers and drivers to customer service representatives, marketers, bookkeepers, managers, safety and training team members, and in-home moving consultants, there are jobs for everyone at a TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchise. One third of our brand’s franchisees started out as movers or drivers, showcasing the ability people have to turn this into a successful, fulfilling career.

I’m always seeking out new opportunities to help grow our brand, help others, learn, and sharpen my skill set. The Scholarship Program was the perfect opportunity for me to accomplish these things. I chose to enroll in the Managers Moving Forward Program after seeing a presentation at Annual Meeting. I saw some of the focus areas were weaknesses of mine, and I figured it would be beneficial to address those. The experience has been awesome, and all of the content has led to processes I can implement at my franchise to make it better. If you aren’t growing, you’re dying, and I’d prefer the former over the latter!
