Juan
Juan has come a long way since he joined the team in 2008, and the atmosphere of the company and the people he’s fortunate to work with are a few of the qualities that really make the job enjoyable.
When it comes to a career journey that describes what TWO MEN AND A TRUCK is all about, perhaps no story better encapsulates that than the story of Juan Gallegos.
Juan originally joined our company as a mover with the Quad Cities, Iowa, franchise back in 2008. From there, his career would accelerate at a rapid pace, going all the way from mover to driver, then move manager, and on-site estimator, before finally settling in as an operations manager in 2014.
While this was a huge promotion at the time, it was just the beginning of something great for Juan. He wanted more out of his career here, and was ready to work for it.
“I have always wanted to own a TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchise ever since I first saw what this company was all about,” Juan said. “It’s very easy to tell yourself you’re not ready for something. I knew if I continued to tell myself that, I will never get anywhere, so I went for the opportunity and haven’t looked back.”
He went for the opportunity, took it head on, and succeeded. In 2019, Gallegos enrolled in the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Mary Ellen’s Moving People Forward® Scholarship program(opens in a new window). It was year-long training course covering everything that went into being a franchisee, with the winner of the program receiving a $50,000 check for the franchise fee of their very own TWO MEN AND A TRUCK location.
On September 4, 2019, Juan was announced as the winner and finally achieved his dream – becoming A TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchisee.
This year, Juan and his family will move to the southern part of Texas to open his very first franchise location and start his journey as a TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchisee. It’s been quite the ride for Juan since he started, and he’s shown what it truly means to move forward in your career.
“It’s a life-changing opportunity for me to move forward, and for me to be a part of something special,” Juan said. “Now, it’s kind of like wow, this is all happening now. I’ve said before – my long-term goal is now my short-term goal, and it’s here. Now, I just wait for the next step.”
